In 1912, the Nishiura family founded the Ryokusuido art dealership in Japan. Pottery was a staple of the Nishiuras since 1806; having received awards and praise from the Universal Expositions in both Europe and the United States. Currently, They are still a leading art dealer in Japan, and in 2006 it established a subsidiary in Portland, Oregon to provide Japanese antiques such as kimono and traditional drawers(Tansu).
